About Us

The Spring Bay Suicide Prevention Network Inc is open to all community members who are interested in the welfare and mental health of their family and friends, neighbours, work colleagues and teammates. The SBSPN is not an INTERVENTION Service our focus is on PREVENTION & AWARENESS. The organisation is a registered Incorporated Association in Tasmania and is a registered Charity with The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission. We are affiliated with Wesley Life Force and are part of their Suicide Prevention Networks around Australia and Tasmania. We have just celebrated our 15th Anniversary.

The primary purpose of the Network is to Provide appropriate pathways to assist individuals who are at risk of self-harm and suicide, including:

  • Dissemination of information and resources pertaining to suicide and mental health awareness;
  • Provision of suicide and mental health awareness training to community members;
  • Assisting in dealing with attitudes and stigma around suicide and mental illness;
  • Promotion of social inclusion in the Spring Bay community area of Glamorgan Spring Bay Council, through a variety of events and activities organised throughout each year.
